Show your work on Art for Planet Earth
Everything you need to know about submitting to an open call, entering a competition, setting up an exhibition, collaborating with groups, and selling environmentally inspired work.
We welcome emerging and established artists working in any medium, with something to say about the environment.
How to submit to an open call
To respond to one of our open calls, use our Open Call page to check your eligibility, any submissions fees, and the important dates. Some open calls are also a competition where your artwork will be judged by well-known art professionals and the winner awarded a prize. Each open call will list what we require from you in terms of the artwork, your contact details and, where the work is for sale, the price. We are here to help if you need any assistance.
1. Review the brief
Read the open call carefully to confirm eligibility, submission fees (if any), deadlines, and the theme or focus of the exhibition or competition.
2. Prepare your files
Gather everything you'll need before starting: artwork images, key details, and any supporting text requested in the call.
3. Add artwork details
Provide clear information for each piece, including title, medium, dimensions, year created, price (if applicable), and a short 1-2 sentence statement.
4. Upload image
Upload a clear, well-lit image in JPEG/WEBP/PNG format. Images should be at least 1200 pixels on the shortest side to ensure good on-screen presentation.
5. Submit online
Complete your entry via the Open Calls page. Once submitted, you'll receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your application.
6. Track the timeline
Key dates - including exhibition go-live, shortlisting, judging, and announcements - are published for each call so you know what to expect and when.
How to get an exhibition in the gallery
We offer artists the opportunity to have an online exhibition within our gallery, set up by the Art for Planet Earth team. This provides you with a dedicated space to exhibit your work and, if you choose, offer it for sale.
There is no cost to set up an exhibition, and we only take a small commission on any sales made. All submitted artworks must support the aims of Art for Planet Earth and are reviewed by our team before being approved for display. We also promote our artists and their exhibitions through our media channels.
If you're interested in creating an exhibition, email team@artforplanetearth.com to start the conversation.
Tell us about your work, recent exhibitions, and how your work connects to Planet Earth.
Provide a coherent selection that shows the range but feels cohesive, with accurate details and pricing.
Our team formats your exhibition, adds your statement, and checks image quality before publishing.
We share your exhibition across our social media and other channels; you'll get links and assets to promote to your audience.
Information for groups and collectives
As with individual artists, we will partner with art groups to showcase themed collections, run joint campaigns and if the art group wishes, we can run joint competitions. Your group show will be free to set up but we will charge a small commission on any sale you make. The group show must support the aims of Art for Planet Earth. Each artwork will be assessed by our team prior to acceptance and display on your group exhibition page. We will promote new and existing art groups and their exhibitions through our media channels.
Curate a group page with a shared statement, member biographies, and highlighted works from each artist.
Co-host an open competition tailored to your group's theme. We manage the entry process and judging.
Share learning sessions or interviews; we'll publish them alongside your group's artworks.
We provide templates for group artists' details, image size specifications, and help with selling, to make everything simple.
Information about selling and the process
We provide the mechanism for you to sell your work via our website. We make the selling process straightforward by having transparent pricing, clear communications, and prompt follow-up once the artwork sells. The work is free to exhibit and we only charge 20% of the sale price as commission; we make no charge if the work does not sell.
For full details on commissions, payouts, and delivery expectations, read our Artist Terms & Conditions of sale.
1. Listing standards
We ask for high-quality images, accurate dimensions, framing details, and care instructions. Clear listings help buyers feel confident and make decisions faster.
2. Pricing & commission
You set the retail price. We'll confirm commission details and any shipping notes with you before the artwork goes live.
3. Shipping options
Let us know whether you offer local collection, courier delivery, or artist-arranged shipping so we can present clear choices to buyers.
4. Staying in touch
Keep your artwork availability, new pieces, and holiday dates up to date. This helps us manage buyer expectations and avoid delays.
5. Payments
When a work sells, we'll notify you straight away. Payment is arranged once the buyer confirms they've received and accepted the artwork.
6. After-sales care
We coordinate delivery expectations with the buyer and keep you updated throughout. The artist is responsible for the safe delivery of the artwork to the buyer.
